Feedstock Is the Foundation
Scrap tires have value as feedstock, and their delivered cost — including collection, shredding, and logistics — sets the floor for the entire project. Capital cost and operating cost both weigh on returns. Energy consumption, labor, maintenance, and consumables must be measured against product revenue. Projects that recover syngas for process heat can reduce external energy purchases and improve margins.
The Role of Feasibility Work
Because so many variables interact, profitability is best established through a structured feasibility study rather than a single headline figure. A credible study models feedstock supply, product pricing, capital, and operating costs together to show whether a project clears its threshold.
