The Euromoney and Ernst & Young Global Renewable Energy Awards were established to recognize projects, companies, and individuals who contributed significantly to the global renewable energy sector. This will be the 5th anniversary of the Awards, and the ceremony will take place at Madame Tussauds, one of London’s favorite tourist attractions. A complete visit to the galleries will be included. 

The Awards, dubbed the ‘Green Oscars,’ occur every year alongside the Renewable Energy Finance Forum (REFF) London and are the perfect platform to celebrate the achievements in the private sector that drive continued growth in the renewable energy industry. The gala dinner and awards ceremony is free to REFF London 2008 conference participants.

The Euromoney and Ernst & Young Global Renewable Energy Awards 2008 categories are as follows:

• M&A Deal of the Year -This award recognizes excellence in mergers and acquisitions. Past winners have included Acciona and Suzlon Energy.
• Equity Deal of the Year - Infrastructure Awarded to the equity investor who shows innovation in structuring deals in infrastructure. Past winners have included Babcock & Brown and Schmack Biogas.
• Equity Deal of the Year - Technology Awarded to the equity investor who shows innovation in structuring deals in technology. Past winners have included Babcock & Brown and Energy Photovoltaics.
• Senior Debt Deal of the Year - Recognition for excellence in structuring the most innovative and sound debt package. Past winners have included HVB for Breeze Two and Three.
• Entrepreneurial Developer of the Year - This category rewards the most active or groundbreaking renewable energy developer or entrepreneurial leader in a Renewable Energy company. Past winners have included Airtricity.
