Nord Gas Solutions To Build Poland's First BioLNG Plant

BioLNG Production

Nord Gas Solutions has secured a contract for a 35-ton-per-day biogas liquefaction plant in Poland, a project the company expects to become the country’s first BioLNG production facility and a significant milestone for its still-developing biomethane sector.

A 35-Tonne-Per-Day Facility

The plant will convert biogas into bioLNG using the company’s Puregas CA75 LBG and Puregas MR35 technologies, with project execution commencing immediately. BioLNG offers a practical route for putting biogas to work in transport applications while reducing reliance on gas-grid injection infrastructure, which can be limited in certain locations.

Brownfield Conversion

Rather than a new build, the facility is being developed as a brownfield conversion that will draw on existing biogas production infrastructure to enable renewable fuel production. The approach demonstrates how established biogas assets can be upgraded to support renewable fuels and extend their operating life, rather than leaving earlier investment stranded as demand shifts.

Manure-Based Feedstock And Market

The plant will process manure-based biogas into low-carbon-intensity bioLNG, creating additional value from agricultural residues while helping to reduce transport-sector emissions. Nord Gas Solutions describes itself as a market leader in gas handling, gas-to-power, liquefaction and biogas solutions. Poland holds considerable biomethane potential through its agricultural sector, even though its biomethane market remains at an early stage, and demand for renewable fuels continues to grow across Europe.
