Klean Industries Clarifies Grimsby Tyre Pyrolysis Plant Will Not Use Klean Technology or IP

Klean confirms its patented tyre pyrolysis technology and intellectual property are not associated with the planned Grimsby, England project

Klean Industries Inc. (“Klean”) is providing clarification regarding the proposed end-of-life tyre pyrolysis facility in Grimsby, England.

Following discussions with Fluid Ice FO Ltd. (“Fluid”) and ELT Recovery Ltd. (“ELT”), Klean was informed that the proposed Grimsby tyre pyrolysis plant would not use Klean Industries technology, intellectual property or Patent EP4162010, developed through Klean’s subsidiary Carbon Resources Recovery GmbH (“CRR”).

Klean was not involved in the Grimsby project and did not offer its technology to the project developers.

Based on the updated information received, Klean removed earlier website posts and press releases dated April 15, 2024 and March 25, 2025 that referenced the proposed Grimsby facility.

Klean’s Commercial Tyre Pyrolysis Technology

The CRR tyre pyrolysis technology referenced above has been deployed at commercial scale at the ReOil Sp. z o.o. facility in Krakow, Poland.

Klean’s tyre recycling platform is designed to recover valuable resources from end-of-life tyres, including recovered carbon black (“rCB”), tyre pyrolysis oil (“TPO”), recovered steel and process gas.

Klean continues to develop and deploy protected tyre pyrolysis technology through qualified projects and strategic relationships focused on the commercial production of sustainable commodities from end-of-life tyres.

Klean’s broader technology portfolio is protected through international intellectual property rights and is being commercialized globally in cooperation with engineering and technology partners, including KBR.

Clarification and Transparency

Klean Industries is committed to maintaining accurate public information regarding projects using its technologies, intellectual property and commercial relationships.

Where information regarding a third-party project changes or requires clarification, Klean will update or remove previous materials as appropriate to ensure that its public communications accurately reflect the company’s involvement.

Subsequent Clarification - October 10, 2025: European Rubber Journal subsequently published a clarification confirming that Klean Industries was not involved in the Grimsby project and had not offered its technology to the developers.
