Pyrum's rCB Ramp-Up Reveals How Hard Pelletizing Scale-Up Really Is
Recovered Carbon Black Pelletizing
Pyrum Innovations’ first-half results show recovered carbon black demand rising faster than production can scale — and that pelletizing is where rCB projects most often stall.
The Half-Year Numbers
Pyrum reported first-half 2026 revenue of EUR 1,743 thousand, up roughly 37.6 percent from EUR 1,267 thousand a year earlier, driven by higher sales from recycling plant operations and consulting work. But revenue fell short of expectations because the ramp-up of its grinding and pelletizing plant in Dillingen was delayed — and management cut its full-year revenue forecast to between EUR 4.2 million and EUR 5.3 million, down from a prior range of EUR 6.5 million to EUR 9.5 million.
Where The Bottleneck Sits
The constraint is not demand and not thermolysis. Pyrum’s ThermoTireBlack (TTB) production has reached 1,250 kilograms per hour, but remains below the manufacturer-guaranteed throughput of 1,650 kilograms per hour. Management traced the shortfall to conveyance of ground material from the buffer hopper into the downstream process steps, and said the supplier is working on technical solutions while the company runs night shifts for two months to recover part of the lost volume.
What This Says About rCB Scale-Up
This is the recurring lesson of recovered carbon black production: the chemical step is the easy part. Consistent, spec-grade output is won or lost in the pelletizing, grinding and material-handling stages — exactly the engineering a buyer must get right before committing capital, not after plant start-up.

Deliver rCB Output On Spec, Not On Hope
Pyrum’s 1,250 kg/h against a 1,650 kg/h guarantee is a reminder that buying a reactor is not the same as buying a working plant — the downstream pelletizing and material-handling line decides whether a project hits its numbers.
Klean Industries has delivered three recovered carbon black plants in India over the past two years and holds a letter of intent to deliver five more, pairing pyrolysis and rCB upgrading with the turn-key engineering that keeps throughput on target.
Why Choose Klean Industries’ Recovered Carbon Black?
✅ Turn-key EPC delivery and rCB upgrading.
✅ Pelletizing and material-handling engineered to spec.
✅ Carbon and lifecycle modelling.
✅ Feasibility studies before capital is committed.
