Liberty Tire Recycling Gulf Coast acquisitions: The end-of-life tire processing firm says it has strengthened its operations in the Gulf Coast region with three acquisitions.

Liberty Tire Recycling, a Pittsburgh-based portfolio company of I Squared Capital, has announced the acquisition of three companies in the Gulf Coast region of the United States.

Liberty acquired All American Tire Recycling, Fort Worth, Texas; Colt Tire Recycling, Scott, Louisiana; and Genan Inc (the Sheldon, Texas-based U.S. subsidiary of Denmark-based Genan A/S).

Liberty says the acquisitions significantly enhance its rubber recycling capacity, tire collection network and other capabilities in Texas and Louisiana, contributing to what it calls the region’s most comprehensive tire recycling network.

“We have always been about bringing together proven partners who have built something that enhances Liberty—and All American, Colt and Genan do just that,” says Thomas Womble, CEO of Liberty Tire Recycling.

“We look forward to combining our expertise with their proven success to provide customers across the Gulf Coast with expanded capabilities, stronger regional service and new opportunities for sustainable end-of-life tire management,” Womble adds.

Liberty says the acquisitions expand its ability to serve retailers, manufacturers and local governments in the Gulf Coast region, which it calls one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas.

All American Tire was founded by Tom and Jodi Parker and has grown into a market leader in scrap tire collection and crumb rubber production in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to Liberty.

Colt Tire Recycling was founded by Kip and Sydney Vincent and is described by Liberty as a leader in tire collection in Louisiana and “an innovator in the use of recycled rubber for civil engineering applications.”

Genan Inc., which operates what Liberty calls a large state-of-the-art processing facility in Houston, focuses on crumb rubber and micronized rubber production for applications including flooring, automotive parts, asphalt and playground surfaces. Thomas Boehme of Genan will assume a new role with Liberty, according to the acquiring company.
