Third-Party Testing Sets a Standard for Verifying Graphene Claims

Verified Graphene Product

Any company can print a “graphene-enhanced” label on a package, yet buyers have had no simple way to confirm the material inside is genuine. A webinar from the Advanced Carbons Council explains how verification turns an unproven claim into a verified graphene product.

What Graphene-Enhanced Really Means

Claims alone tell a customer very little, because nothing stops a producer from putting the word on a package. International standards such as ISO 9651, the Graphene Classification Framework, define what is genuinely graphene and give buyers a benchmark to measure against, and the council maintains the only rigorous, in-person, third-party inspection and testing program that applies them.

Inspection And Materials Testing

Verification involves an in-person facility audit covering equipment, process controls, and health and safety, alongside materials testing for layer structure, particle size and chemical composition, in compliance with ISO 9651. The result is a confirmed, traceable material rather than an unverified label.

Three Levels Of Certification

The program certifies suppliers at three tiers: Verified Graphene Product, Verified Producer, and Verified Integrated Graphene Company. A product-level verification covers the material itself, producer-level extends to manufacturing consistency, and integrated-company certification confirms quality and traceability across a wider supply chain, helping customers, regulators and investors assess what a supplier can actually deliver.

Why Traceability Matters

Because graphene is defined by structure rather than a brand name, buyers need a way to separate tested material from marketing language. The council argues that verification gives customers, regulators and investors confidence that a material will perform as claimed, and that consistency is demonstrated through testing rather than asserted.

A Full Supply Chain Example

One case study traces a complete integration chain, following Kyorene alongside Armor Guys and Kyorene Europe from graphene production through masterbatch, fiber and yarn manufacturing to the finished product, with quality control maintained at every point in the supply chain. Delivered by the council’s scientific team, the session on 1 October 2026 is free and aimed at buyers, regulators and investors.
