Tyre Recycling Equipment: Full Line Installed in Reeves County, Texas

Tyre Recycling Equipment

Eco Green Equipment has supplied a complete tyre recycling line to Reeves County, Texas, equipping the county to convert whole passenger, truck, and off-road tyres into crumb rubber, rubber mulch, and tyre-derived fuel.

A Complete Line, From Whole Tyre to Finished Product

The new line shows how modern tyre recycling equipment sequences several stages. A primary shredder first reduces whole end-of-life tyres into coarse chips, a secondary granulator draws those chips down into smaller, more uniform granules, and a crumb rubber mill refines the material into the fine crumb used across downstream applications.

By combining these machines into one coordinated line, an operator moves from whole tyre to marketable output without intermediate handling or external processing — integration that determines throughput, energy use, and end-product consistency.

Where the Material Goes

Each output serves an established market. Tyre-derived fuel (TDF) is consumed as an industrial energy source in cement kilns, pulp and paper mills, and utility boilers, where its high energy content substitutes for traditional fuels. Rubber mulch is used in landscaping, playground surfacing, and erosion control, while crumb rubber — the finest of the three — feeds manufactured goods from rubberised asphalt and moulded products to the feedstock behind recovered carbon black and pyrolysis oil recovery.

Why Full-Line Processing Matters

A complete line changes what a facility can offer. Piecemeal equipment leaves operators dependent on outside processors and limits the products they can sell, while a full line lets a site control quality end to end and respond to demand across multiple markets at once. For a county or municipality, that converts a waste-disposal liability into a diversified materials revenue stream — the same value logic behind a tire pyrolysis project.

Mechanical processing of this kind is also the natural first stage of a broader waste-to-value strategy. Shredding and granulating end-of-life tyres prepares the feedstock for more advanced recovery routes, including the thermal conversion that yields recovered carbon black and pyrolysis oil. A well-specified tyre recycling line therefore does not compete with those downstream processes — it feeds them.

Reeves County sits in the Trans-Pecos region of Southwest Texas, about 74 miles southwest of Odessa along Interstate 20, an area long built on cattle ranching and farming. Adding tyre processing capacity there points to the broader opportunity across Texas and the wider United States as operators monetise end-of-life tyres rather than landfilling them, an effort a feasibility study can help scope.
