Recycled Rubber Flooring Upcycles Truck Tires Into Premium Surfaces

Recycled Rubber Flooring

Scrap-tire rubber is finding a premium end-market in athletic and commercial flooring, where manufacturers like Ecore turn used truck tires into durable, slip-resistant surfaces that carry a meaningful share of post-consumer recycled content.

Ecore’s products average 62 to 87 percent post-consumer recycled content, and the company says it reclaims and transforms more than 430 million pounds of rubber waste annually — much of it from used truck tires — into flooring, running tracks and other performance surfaces.

Upcycling, Not Just Recycling

The company describes the process as upcycling: a tire’s built-in shock absorption and durability are preserved and repurposed, rather than ground away. Its TRUcircularity program closes the loop further, taking back used flooring, turf and track material, reprocessing it and re-engineering it into new surfaces instead of sending it to landfill.

The result is a durable, recyclable-at-end-of-life product line that demonstrates how end-of-life tires can flow into higher-value applications beyond low-grade filler — a signal of where the scrap-tire rubber market is heading.

Partner With The KleanTeam to Supply the Rubber Value Chain

Safe. Clean. Profitable. One Proven Partner.

Premium applications like recycled rubber flooring are where end-of-life tires earn their highest value. Klean Industries builds the processing plants that turn scrap tires and the tire-derived feedstock they carry into the recovered carbon black, pyrolysis oil, steel and rubber granulate that feed these markets.

Klean’s Key Advantages:

  • ✅ Thirty-plus years engineering commercial tire and plastic pyrolysis plants.
  • ✅ 3 recovered carbon black (rCB) plants built in India over the past 2 years.
  • ✅ Signed LOI to deliver five more rCB plants in India.
  • ✅ KBR added Klean’s proprietary TyreNova tire-pyrolysis technology to its IP portfolio.
  • ✅ KleanLoop blockchain provides end-to-end feedstock traceability.
