Condensing Boiler for Process Heat

Condensing Boiler

A conventional boiler lets its flue gas escape carrying both sensible heat and the latent heat bound up in the water vapour of combustion. A condensing boiler recovers both, cooling the flue gas enough to condense that vapour and reclaim its heat, delivering process heat or hot water at significantly higher efficiency than a standard boiler.

How Condensing Works

By extending the heat-exchange surface, a condensing boiler drops the flue-gas temperature below the dew point of its water vapour, forcing that vapour to condense and release its latent heat. That recovered energy goes into the water being heated, so the boiler extracts more useful heat from exactly the same fuel.

Why It Suits Low-Temperature Duty

Condensing performs best when returning water is cool enough to drive condensation, which is why it shines in lower-temperature process and hot-water duty. For a facility with a steady low-to-medium heat demand, a condensing boiler cuts fuel use noticeably over a conventional unit, making it the higher-efficiency choice where the duty allows it.
