Engineering Contract Advances First Joint-Venture Tire Pyrolysis Plant

Tire Pyrolysis Engineering

Pyrum and UniPyrum have signed an engineering and consulting agreement to advance the first joint-venture tire pyrolysis plant at Emleben in Germany’s Thuringia region.

Covering Approval and Basic Engineering

The contract covers the approval process and basic engineering for the plant, forming the basis for the subsequent implementation phase. It represents the joint venture’s first order to Pyrum and sits in the high six-figure euro range, with a first down payment already made.

First of Many Sites

The Emleben plant will be the first of five to ten planned UniPyrum locations across Germany and Europe. It is being built on an existing unitank site that offers proximity to the motorway and established logistics infrastructure, well suited to construction and operation.

Capacity and Rollout

Each site will begin with at least three thermolysis reactors capable of recycling around 22,000 tonnes of end-of-life tires per year, with Pyrum’s modular design allowing capacity to expand. The joint venture has received initial funding and will hire specialists to identify the next two locations and start their planning and approval procedures.
