Spanish End-of-Life Tyre Model Showcased in Mexico
ELT Recycling
The Spanish end-of-life tyre management model was presented to Mexico’s rubber industry as a replicable framework for ELT recycling built on extended producer responsibility.
A Summit Presentation
Salvador Pérez Lucena, president of the Spanish Association of Recycled Tyres (AER) and Global Chief Sales Officer of Grupo Soledad, presented at the first Annual Meeting of the Rubber Sector, organised by Mexico’s National Chamber of the Rubber Industry in Mexico City.
A Traceable, Financially Sound Model
The presentation outlined how to structure an effective, traceable and financially sound tyre management system covering the lifecycle from market launch through disposal, with emphasis on reuse, recycling and end-use recovery plus monitoring.
Collective Systems and EPR
It highlighted associative models based on extended producer responsibility, such as collective systems where importers pool obligations to finance management, guarantee traceability and deliver verifiable objectives within a stable, auditable sector structure.
An Integrated Lifecycle Operator
Grupo Soledad was presented as an integrated company managing the full tyre lifecycle, from import and distribution through retreading, collection and recovery, supported by the Recycla industrial platform specialising in end-of-life tyres.
