Every litre converted is a litre that does not require fresh crude to be extracted and refined, which cuts greenhouse gas emissions, conserves a finite resource, and shrinks the volume of hazardous waste needing disposal. It also eases the air-pollution burden tied to manufacturing new base oil.

Conversion also presses down on real costs. Cheaper feedstock lowers the cost of producing lubricants, disposal fees fall, and the recycling chain sustains jobs in collection, processing, and marketing. As demand for recycled base oil rises, the economics of conversion only improve.
