European Tyre Recycling Venture Defends Position After Termination

Tyre recycling across Europe faces a new test as a major joint venture resolves a dispute with its technology partner. Infiniteria has responded to the termination of its agreements by Scandinavian Enviro Systems.
Joint Venture Structure
Infiniteria is a joint venture between Antin Infrastructure Partners, Enviro and Michelin, formed to build a leading European tyre recycling business. Construction of its wholly-owned Uddevalla facility in Sweden began in 2024, with Enviro acting as technology and project management partner.
Termination Under Reorganization Law
Enviro has moved to terminate the joint venture agreements, stating that it is acting pursuant to the Swedish Company Reorganization Act rather than any contractual right. Infiniteria has taken note of the announcement and is studying all options to continue work on the plant.
Defence of Contractual Position
Infiniteria intends to fully defend its rights under law and to take every measure to protect its contractual position while delivering on customer commitments. The company says it made repeated attempts to find common ground with Enviro but that all of its proposals were rejected.
Uddevalla Facility Outlook
Infiniteria states that it has complied with its contractual obligations in respect of the Uddevalla plant, including its payment obligations. It remains committed to completing the facility as soon as possible and to advancing its broader European strategy.
