Waste Commerce Platform Plans Hyperlocal Tire Recycling in Hyderabad
Hyperlocal Tire Recycling
Hyderabad-based waste-commerce company Recykal is planning hyperlocal tire recycling and processing units for end-of-life materials, bringing recovery closer to the points where waste is generated.
Expansion Across Paper, Batteries And Tires
Recykal intends to build hyperlocal processing units for several waste streams, including paper, batteries and end-of-life tires. Each stream needs different collection, handling and processing systems, and for tire waste, local infrastructure could improve the movement of end-of-life tires from generators to authorized recyclers while supporting downstream markets for crumb rubber and tire-derived materials.
A Technology-Led Platform
The company already operates a technology-driven platform connecting waste generators, recyclers and other stakeholders, improving visibility across material flows and coordinating collection. The planned expansion adds physical processing capacity to that software-enabled network, strengthening the ecosystem rather than replacing it.
A $22 Million Raise
Recykal has raised $22 million, around ₹162.8 crore, which it plans to use to strengthen its technology platform and broaden operations across India’s waste management sector. The funding supports its model of combining software coordination with localized processing to improve efficiency, traceability and commercial scalability in fragmented waste flows.
Shorter Distances, Better Economics
The hyperlocal model could reduce the distance waste travels before processing, cutting logistics costs and improving collection efficiency. For bulky materials such as tires, transport is a major cost factor, so processing closer to source can improve economics and reduce the likelihood that tires end up stored, dumped or handled outside organized systems.
Hyderabad As A Sustainability Hub
Recykal’s base reflects Hyderabad’s growing role as a center for technology-driven sustainability businesses. Companies working in waste management, resource efficiency and environmental technology are increasingly using digital tools to organize material recovery and circular economy operations, a trend the expansion plan positions Recykal to lead in India.
