Gilead Dynamics and ATS Partner to Scale Mobile Tire Recycling

Mobile Tire Recycling

A Columbus, Ohio cleantech startup is partnering with an automation leader to bring its mobile tire recycling system from prototype toward commercial deployment.

A Manufacturing and Enablement Agreement

Gilead Dynamics has announced its public debut alongside a strategic manufacturing and enablement agreement with ATS Industrial Automation, a global leader in advanced automation systems. The collaboration accelerates the path to commercialisation of Gilead’s flagship platform, which is designed to convert end-of-life tire shreds into three reusable byproducts: recycled carbon black, oil and syngas.

A Modular System on Two Trailers

Under the agreement, ATS is refining the unit for manufacturability and industrial scale, providing end-to-end support spanning design optimisation, fabrication, delivery and full life-cycle service. The platform is a modular, mobile system designed to be deployed on two standard 53-foot flatbed trailers, combining advanced pyrolysis with microwave technology to extract materials from tire scraps.

Targeting Virgin-Grade Purity

The system targets up to 93% carbon black purity, a threshold comparable to virgin material and critical for reuse in industrial and manufacturing applications. By recovering valuable outputs from material that would otherwise be landfilled or incinerated, the platform supports both emissions reduction and supply chain resilience.

Enablement Built In From the Start

A defining feature of the collaboration is its emphasis on enablement: ATS engineers are embedded with the Gilead Dynamics team to co-develop the design, ensuring manufacturability and serviceability are built in from the outset. Following deployment, ATS will lead customer onboarding, training and post-sale support, including digital tools and its VR training platform, giving buyers access to life-cycle support for consistent operation.
