EIA - 2010 International Energy Outlook
International Energy Outlook
World marketed energy consumption is projected to grow 49 percent between 2007 and 2035, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s International Energy Outlook 2010. The increase is driven primarily by economic growth in the world’s developing nations.
The largest projected increases in energy demand occur in non-OECD Asia, led by China and India, which account for the bulk of the growth as their economies continue to industrialize and expand. Renewable energy is projected to be the world’s fastest-growing energy source over the period, though fossil fuels are expected to continue supplying the majority of world energy through 2035.
