The 3rd World Urban Forum
This June 19-23, more than 6,000 participants from 150 nations will gather in Vancouver, Canada for the Third session of the World Urban Forum. This biennial UN-HABITAT event on urban sustainability examines and identifies solutions to the critical problems facing cities around the globe. The theme of discussions will be Our Future: Sustainable Cities – Turning Ideas into Action.
What makes World Urban Forum unique is that unlike other UN events, discussions are kept informal to encourage dialogue among a wide range of participants, from government leaders and local authorities to non-governmental organizations, grassroots movements, urban professionals, youth and the private sector.
Over five days, participants will have a unique opportunity to exchange and share ideas and best practices, to learn from high-profile speakers and to discover the city of Vancouver, one of Canada’s most beautiful cities. Join us as we mark the 30th anniversary of the first UN conference on human settlements held in Vancouver in 1976, which led to the creation of UN-HABITAT. An outstanding lineup of activities, networking sessions, side events and tours are offered to all participants. For more information please, http://www.unhabitat.org/wuf.
