German Green Building Pavilion DAS HAUS Is Coming to Canada


DAS HAUS, the internationally acclaimed exhibition that connects industry professionals in Canada and the US with the latest market-ready renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions from Germany, is coming to Vancouver.

This highly anticipated DAS HAUS, exhibition will be open from March 12 - 21, 2012 (overlapping the GLOBE 2012 Conference and Trade Fair on the Business of the Environment) It will be on display at the premises of Concord Pacific Developments Inc., 88 Pacific Boulevard, Vancouver.

Visitors of the pavilion can learn about a multitude of green building technologies including:

An enclosed room built according to Passive House Standards featuring a highly insulated envelope, heat recovery ventilation and cooling systems, and triple-pane windows that optimize solar heat gain while minimizing heat loss.

Thin film PV roof, facade and louvered panel systemspowering the pavilion, while providing additional insulation benefits.

Advanced wall construction systems representing a wide range of insulation techniques and materials designed to resist thermal conductivity, avoid thermal bridging, and maximize year-round indoor comfort.

Inspired by the Technical University of Darmstadt’s 2007 and 2009 first-place entries in the Solar Decathlon, an international solar house competition, the DAS HAUS pavilion demonstrates market-ready technologies for maximizing the energy performance of residential buildings.

Primary goal of the DAS HAUS show is to open a dialogue that will help professionals in the green building sector to create international partnerships.

A number of expert seminars, social events and guided tours will be part of the DAS HAUS program, presented by thought leaders on green building and utilization of renewable energies.

Workshop participants and visitors will represent leading organizations and businesses in building materials, architecture, and engineering, universities, and public officials.

Admission to the pavilion and participation in the various events is free of charge.
