Klean's CEO Keynote Speaker | End Of Life Plastics 2013 Conference

Vancouver, Canada – International conference and exhibition on commercial markets and options for end-of-life plastics

Vancouver, Canada - Klean Industries Inc. (“KI’), is pleased to announce that its CEO, Jesse Klinkhamer will be a keynote speaker at the international conference on End of Life Plastics 2013. The event will take place from 4-6 June 2013 at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany. The conference starts with an evening welcome reception and exhibition on the 4th followed by a 2-day program.

Waste plastics is a commercially viable source of income and effective management can greatly increase sustainability and diminish the carbon footprint of a product. With producers taking responsibility and Earth’s finite resources for a growing population, what are the best options for End of Life Plastics? Is it recovery and mechanical recycling, energy from incineration, plastics to fuel technology, upcycling, or chemical recycling and return to virgin plastics?

All global regions have regulations for plastic waste markets. The EU market regulations are changing to facilitate recycling by re-classifying materials as End of Waste (EOW): “The waste ceases to be waste when a useful and safe product is placed on the market”. There must be market demand and no adverse effects. The debate is in progress including the issue of additives like low molecular weight phthalate plasticizers, heavy metals, and halogenated flame retardants.

The End of Life Plastics 2013 conference provides a forum for leading corporate responsibility managers and brand owners, the plastics industry, recyclers, R&D professionals, and the technology supply chain to debate the optimum environmental solutions for managing end-of-life polymer materials and the market reality and economics of each option.
