Klean's CEO to Speak at Conference on Feedstock Recycling of Polymeric Materials

Vancouver, Canada – Klean Industries Inc. (“KI’), is pleased to announce that the company’s CEO, Jesse Klinkhamer will be a keynote speaker at the International Symposium on Feedstock Recycling of Polymeric Materials (ISFR) in New Delhi, India from October 23-26, 2013. KI is a privately-held corporation that controls technology that converts petroleum-based waste streams (such as plastics and tires) into valuable commodities for reuse - reinventing oil with conservation and energy efficiency. The company maintains technology development facilities in Asia, financial headquarters in Vancouver, Canada, and business development offices around the globe.

“I am pleased to have been asked for the opportunity to speak at the 7th annual ISFR conference in India this year. There are a number of innovations taking place in the market and we are pleased to share some of our insights with our industry peers.

Jesse is the primary founder of the company and for the last 15 years has held a variety of senior management, executive consulting, sales, and product development roles in the energy sector. He continues to lead the organization and is also an Executive Board member of several other unique clean energy technology companies.

About ISFR

The biennial International symposium focuses on the various processes for the valorization of polymeric wastes. It aims at bringing together scientists, engineers, and other industry experts from around the world to brainstorm on the recent developments in the fields of waste plastic, e-waste, and biomass conversion processes. The earlier ISFR events were organized in Japan (Ist ISFR in 1999), Belgium (2nd ISFR in 2002), Germany (3rd ISFR in 2005), Korea (4th ISFR in 2007), China (5th ISFR in 2009), and more recently in Spain (6th ISFR in 2011).

India, a developing nation, faces an ever-increasing demand for hydrocarbons and has seen a phenomenal increase in the share of plastics in municipal waste and e-waste in recent years. The non-biodegradable nature of plastic waste poses serious problems to the environment and hence, recycling and recovery of polymeric residues is the need of the hour. The agricultural and forest residues can also be effectively utilized for the production of hydrocarbons in a sustainable manner. With this background, the 7th International Symposium on Feedstock Recycling of Polymeric Materials (7th ISFR, 2013) will be held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India from October 23-26, 2013.

The international event has been conceptualized with the objective of providing a common platform for sharing the latest developments and exchange of ideas from both scientific and technological points of view. The current scenario of the different processes for the valorization of polymeric residues (waste plastics, e-waste, biomass, etc.) by their transformation into raw chemicals, fuels, commercial products, and/or energy using the thermo-catalytic, chemical and biochemical methods will be discussed. These methods are expected to be highly energy efficient and eco-friendly while providing attractive profitability that may allow modern societies to successfully manage the huge and increasing amounts of polymeric waste that is generated.
